The Butterfly House: where the tropical microcosm meets the Milano Marittima Pine Forest!
At the Club Family Hotel Michelangelo Milano Marittima, fun is guaranteed! We do everything to make our guests' holidays unforgettable, especially our most precious guests: the children. That's why we absolutely recommend spending a few hours – or even half a day – visiting the "Butterfly House".
Just take a short walk through the beautiful Milano Marittima Pine Forest and you’ll find yourself in a magical world, where beautiful butterflies delight everyone with their graceful and colorful flights.
Once in this Pine Forest area, you can immediately admire the native butterflies in free flight at the "Butterfly Garden". Recently created, this garden includes a botanical path, plant installations, an insect hotel, and in the middle, the "Caterpillar", a greenhouse with host plants that attract and welcome local butterflies, ensuring biodiversity that’s waiting to be discovered.
The heart of the Butterfly House is undoubtedly the large 500 sqm greenhouse: open a glass door and you’ll literally be catapulted into a proper tropical forest. A small tropical forest has been created here, with banana plants, carnivorous plants, giant snails, and vibrant plants and flowers, on which the colorful wings of over 40 species of tropical butterflies stand out, flying freely and undisturbed.
Who hasn’t followed a butterfly as a child, admiring it as it fluttered from flower to flower, hoping it would land on your shoulder? At the Butterfly House, simply wear red or blue clothes, and the butterflies will land on your colorful clothing, mistaking everyone for beautiful plants!
Has anyone ever seen a stick insect or a praying mantis? The Insect House is the pavilion hosting many small insects in different terrariums, giving everyone the chance to admire the hardworking bees, the flight of beetles, the strength of giant cockroaches, the music of crickets, and many other insects you might never have known existed.
Meeting all the characters from fairy tales, cartoons, and movies will be a dream come true for every child, but also for all the adults who still know how to be amazed!
